Frequently Asked Questions
I Have Not Really Had Any Trauma in My Life. How Would Your Program Help Me?
Most of us have experienced some type of ongoing trauma or traumatic event. According to Stephen Porges, Ph.D founding director of the Traumatic Stress Research Consortium, “Trauma is a chronic disruption of connectedness”.
Additionally, a traumatic event, as defined by Webster, is any incident that causes physical, emotional, spiritual, or psychological harm. Some people “accrue” a number of smaller traumas over their lifetimes, while others have experienced quite dramatic and severe events. All of these situations can inhibit us from living our lives to the fullest. Therefore, we believe that our programs are beneficial for everyone.
